1982 Harley-Davidson FXRS

Just months after Harley-Davidson completed their buyout from AMF, they produced the "Engineers'Bike". The FXRS was the most refined, best handling machine that had ever come from Harley. The FXR frame was designed around the 80ci Shovelhead that was rubber mounted. The back-end of the bike was lifted a couple of inches to increase lean angle and handling. The bike came equipped with triple disc brakes. The bike proved that Harley-Davidson was in it for the long haul.

1982 was the first model year the FXR and the second to last year for the Shovelhead. This particular example was restored two years ago. Everything that needed work was addressed. The motor has been rebuilt using an S&S bottom end, new cylinders, new pistons and reconditioned heads. It still retains the OEM carburetor and air cleaner cover. The wire harness is new and features self cancelling turn signals and road lights. The transmission has been rebuilt, and it has a new clutch. All cables a new as well as brake lines. Brake master cylinders and calipers have been rebuilt and new pads have been installed. This bike is ready to roll. This is a true piece of history. Swing by the shop and check it out.
