2008 Harley-Davidson V-Rod
In 2001 the V-Rod screamed on to the scene unlike anything Harley-Davidson has produced in the past. The bike remained relatively unchanged until 2008. In 2008 the V-Rod moved from the original 1130cc engine producing a claimed 115hp, to the 1250cc engine -previously reserved for CVO models - producing a claimed 125hp at 8250 RPM and 85ft/lbs of torque at 7000rpm. The bike also received a meaty 240mm rear tire, quite a bit wider than previous years. Also new for 2008 the V-Rod was given a race-inspired slipper clutch designed to reduced drivetrain strain and reduce rear-wheel lock up during downshifts. Integrated in the new clutch design was an assist feature, reducing clutch lever effort by 20 percent. The bike weighs 670lbs in normal operating condition.
This particular example features the optional ABS system from Harley. 2008 was the first year this was offered on the V-Rod. The bike also features a windshield, saddlebags and a passenger backrest. Along with several chrome accessories the bike has also been painted a beautiful custom pearl, neon green. Lastly, the bike features a 2-into-1 full Rinehart Exhaust System.
